Post a summary of the standard your group researched along with three examples of how a teacher might accomplish this in their classroom. Be sure to include the names of each group member with your post.
Hello and welcome to Jeff's blog. This blog is set up for two reasons, first, to try out new technologies and become adept at using them. Second, to create an area for students in my class to post their comments and begin to realize the potential for this type of technology use in their own classrooms. Enjoy. Jeff

Standard 5: Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership
Keeping up with technology and its application to/in the classroom. As teachers we should promote the use of new technologies and participating in a community of learners and users of technology.
Examples of how a teacher could do this:
Utilizing and sharing new found information about technology with students and coworkers.
Classroom community blogs to help students share information with the class.
Keeping up to date. Using new technology in the classroom instead of relying on the old.

Teachers are responsible for designing and evaluating different lesson plans and materials using digital tools that promote individual students creativity and interests. These lessons should be adapted to different content areas and learning styles so that students can take charge of setting their own educational goals and assessing their own progress.
Gwen would find a Web 2.0 tool that helps students explore a different language. Lindley would create a graph to record student's progress throughout the year. Luke would use a music website with music theory handouts and aural perception exercises that the students could practice.

2. Have students work in groups to create lists of appropriate and inappropriate behavior while on line.
3. Find a way for your class to connect and communicate with another class from another country via internet. For the purpose of learning about cultural diversity.
